Nintendo Switch 2 Games I want to see

Just one week to go until we find out what kind of games we’ll be playing on our brand new Nintendo Switch 2. Before that though, here are some games I want to see on the system.

3D Yoshi

There’s been a fairly consistent release of Yoshi titles over the past few generations – Yoshi’s New Island on 3DS, Yoshi’s Wooly World on Wii U and Yoshi’s Crafted World on the Switch. There’s every chance Switch 2 has a 2D Yoshi game but I’d love to see a move to 3D. Yoshi and Poochy exploring together, going on adventures. If Kirby can go 3D after 40 something odd years then Yoshi deserves the chance too.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker 2

Captain Toad isn’t even necessarily that special of a game, it’s certainly fun don’t get me wrong, but it’s just one that I totally fell in love with. It’s got the Mario charm in a new perspective and fun design and I just want to see more. If nothing else it’s perfect schedule filler between bigger releases.

Splatoon Campaign

Splatoon has been a breakout hit for Nintendo, being one of the very few saviours of the Wii U. Two sequels on the Switch later and I’ve still not played any of the Multiplayer. Just not interested. I bought them for the campaigns (which admittedly I also haven’t played). My point here is to say Nintendo doesn’t need another Multiplayer splatoon so soon, but a solely campaign game which as marketed as such.

Maybe I just miss things like Club Penguin and maybe I liked the fan made April Fools title Splatoon Island. If they want to boost Splatoon even further then this feels like the way to go.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Remake

I may have only played it once but I still consider Majora’s Mask to be one of my favourite games of all time – it is dark and melancholic, dealing with the concept of dying incredibly well. If you think it’s just edgy Zelda, you’re being contrarian on purpose. Regardless, I played the 3DS version which seems to have made some great quality of life improvements in the form of the Bomber’s notebook but apparently changes some of the transformations for the worse from the original N64 game. A remake that combines the best of both worlds would be perfect.

It won’t happen though, the long rumoured Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD ports will happen as well as the fact the 3DS port is as close to a remaster as we’ll get. Besides rumours have a Breath of the Wild enhanced edition as the Zelda remake so.

We don’t have to wait long for the full games reveal and the next Switch direct is even sooner – tomorrow! Nintendo certainly work in mysterious ways. If even one of these gets announced, over either show, I’ll consider that a win.
